Quotes 2

My future starts when I wake up every morning... Every day I find something creative to do with my life

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want
and, if they can't find them, make them.
What makes the engine go? Desire, desire, desire.

It's not enough that we do our best; sometimes we have to do what's required.

Success is simple. Do what's right, the right way, at the right time

One never knows what each day is going to bring. The important thing is to be open and ready for it.

No man is a failure who is enjoying life.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Know yourself

Source : The information given here is got from some seminar that I had attended during my engineering college days. I do not remember who was the author of the diagram that is shown and also who gave the seminar

A person's knowledge about himself can be modeled using a matrix as shown in the figure.

The rows reflects what you know and do not know about yourself. Similarly the columns reflect what others know and do not know about yourself. The result is there will be areas which you know and others know(box 1), you know and others do not know (box2), you do not know and others know (box3) and last you do not know and others also do not know(box 4).

Man as an individual knows about 1 and 2 and to a certain extent 3. It is the 4 that is unexplored and most of his talents are hidden. It is this area that man has to explore to enhance his skills and talents.

Don't give advice....Even if you give, it won't be taken.

Advice is like a castor oil, easy to give uneasy to take.

Its always easy people saying that 'he/she scolded me'. Is scolding a bad thing? Is it related personally? Ofcourse people take it personally.

Yesterday (Sept 9) was a E-cell interactive session. All E-cells' from different colleges of bangalore had come for the interactive session. We have been the host and had taken the initiative to organise it. And, there is a committee for it for which I am the incharge of internal operations i.e whatever event happens, I am the incharge of organizing it. We have juniors to support us..who are so called managers and there are 12 of them two of them belonging to one head i.e Operations, Biz development, Technical, Media, NEN and Marketing.

Its not that people have to do what that comes under them. Its just for the structure and work is distributed depending on the workload. And these juniors were asked to come before 10 am yesterday so that we could receive the e-cells from other colleges. But, it so happend that none of them turned up in time and the people from e-cell of different colleges started coming from 9.30 onwards. Now, being alone how can you receive all the guests at once. It just not possible and what an impression it will create of the college.

Now, the e-cell managerial team turned up at around 10.15am. On asking, why didnt they turn up, there was an excuse from each of them. One of them said, its ok...only 10 minutes late!!!!
Is this right? We belong to a Professional community and being 1o minutes late is that ok?
Tomorrow we may start a company and time does matter in reaching the deals....if this is the attitude, will we succeed?.

After the event, the managerial team was taken to task. They have made the mistake and some gyan was supposed to be given. Was taking them to task was scolding or giving them direction to do something right? Think about it. I think people take it the former one. If you really think hard its the latter. And who does'nt make mistakes, everybody does it and its only we have to capitalize on it and move ahead. I believe the managerial team understands this and continue to improve on this without taking it personally as scolding.
